Known issue: Elementor log-in redirects

It has come to our attention that a new “glitch” is occurring for WordPress websites and Elementor. This article describes the error and how to get around it for now.

What’s the glitch?

The Elementor log-in block allows users to log-in from any front-end page of your website, with optional redirects. The widget block also allows users to reset their passwords or enable “remember me”.

Normally, this functions and users are redirected however it appears that the function pulls an erroneous line of code and redirects to the WordPress default log-in.php screen. In some cases, users are unable to log in via this default screen.

What’s the work-around?

Front-end users of your website may still access their accounts via the “my account” page or widget, as it appears this still successfully logs them in.

To access the admin area, it is recommended to log-in via your back-end hosted links such as cPanel or Plesk dashboards, or via the secure SSO links provided in your account.

What’s the fix?

At this point we are notifying our customers that this glitch has been noticed and confirmed on our end. It is unclear what measures are being taken by the team at Elementor or WordPress to address this. User are advised to keep a backup of their website files just in case, and check back later for updates as we find them.
